Ivana: Completely normalised CINIII and avoided the need for surgery
I came to see Robyn after being told that I had CIN III on my cervix (pre-cancerous lesions). I had heard about Robyn through the Sydney Vegan Club Facebook group and attended one of her seminars. Robyn’s nutrition advice at the time seemed sensible and measured, so she stuck with me in my mind.
After being diagnosed with CIN III in March 2018, I was given the option of minor surgery to remove the lesions. This was pitched to me as the only option to get rid of it. I was told that there was a possibility of the lesions going away on their own, but that there was a 1/3 chance that they could turn into cancer eventually, and that I shouldn’t take the risk of leaving them. Faced with this dilemma, I didn’t want to take the option of surgery straight away, but I desperately wanted to do something about it, so I sought alternative options and decided to visit Robyn.
I had already been eating a vegan diet for a number of years. It wasn’t until I began discussing with Robyn the kinds of foods I was eating that it became clear to me that although I was consuming a lot of vegetables, I was not eating the right kinds of vegetables. I had just assumed that if I ate vegetables – any kind of vegetable – that I would be fine and healthy. I assumed I would be protected against disease due to the touted benefits of the vegan diet. Robyn helped me create a food plan which incorporated more cruciferous vegetables, folate, vegetables with colour and nuts (which I had hardly consumed consciously at the time).
Robyn also suggested things I had not considered before, such as green tea extract and curcumin as powerful healers of pre-cancer and cancer growths. Armed with the knowledge she provided, I also did my own research and began taking oral supplements and suppositories.
I persisted with all of these changes for 5 months and visited the doctor again in August 2018. I got the result that I wanted. I was clear of all CIN III and my cervix was normal. It is hard to put into words the elation I felt at the time.
I now carry all of the knowledge I gained about nutrition to my every-day life and have made lasting changes to my diet.
