Have you been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease such as
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus)
- Multiple sclerosis
- Ulcerative colitis
- Crohn’s disease
- Autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Graves’ disease) or
- Psoriasis?
Have you been told that you’ll have to use powerful immune-suppressing and anti-inflammatory medications – or are you already on them?
There is another choice. Clients of mine – people just like you – have been able to recover from autoimmune disease, reduce and even eliminate their drugs, and get their lives back!
Autoimmune diseases provoke strong feelings in those who suffer from them, not to mention their loved ones. These are some of the feelings my clients have described to me:
- Enormous fear and confusion about why your own immune system is attacking your body;
- Fear of the powerful immune suppressing and anti-inflammatory drugs that are used to treat these conditions;
- Fear of the effect that the disease itself, and the treatment for it, might have on your physical capacity and life expectancy;
- Frustration that the treatment is only aimed at the symptoms of the disease, not the underlying cause or causes.
The bottom line is, medical treatment of autoimmune conditions is, on the whole, ineffective. The most that can be done is to diminish the symptoms and prolong the intervals between flare-ups. The word cure is never used; patients are told they will have to ‘manage’ their condition (with drugs) for the rest of their lives.
All the immunosuppressive drug increase the risk of cancer; other side-effects of specific drugs include pancreatitis, hearing loss, kidney damage, birth defects in offspring of a mother taking the drug, and opportunistic infections that may cause death.
What is autoimmunity?
All autoimmune diseases, no matter what part of the body they affect, involve a chronic inflammatory process that is initiated and maintained by the immune system, against one or more of the body’s tissues.
It is as if the immune system ‘thinks’ that these tissues are foreign invaders – like bacteria or viruses – that have to be attacked and wiped out. The immune system makes antibodies against the particular tissue, and these autoantibodies, along with various markers of inflammation, can be measured in the blood.
What causes autoimmune diseases?
The official medical line is that the cause of autoimmunity is unknown. Medical science concentrates on identifying the parts of the immune system that are involved in the process of autoimmunity, and inhibiting them with drugs.
Predictably, research on the cause of autoimmunity tend to focus on genetic factors, with a view to developing drugs that will alter the behaviour of ‘culprit’ genes.
My approach is very different. I start from the rather obvious observation, that people who carry the genes for autoimmune disease didn’t have that disease when they were born. So something had to trigger those genes to ‘express’ the disease behaviour.
That ‘something’ almost always comes down to a combination of the following:
- Nutritional imbalance – deficiency of vital nutrients and excess of toxic nutrients
- Stress
- Environmental exposures including chemicals, and viral and bacterial infection.
So these are the things I focus on. My program for healing from autoimmune diseases includes detailed nutritional guidance; nutritional supplements including safe, natural anti-inflammatory substances; and practical, fast-acting treatment for stress using EFT.

This is how nutritional treatment and stress management reversed Pamela’s ulcerative colitis:
When I was first referred to Robyn, my ulcerative colitis was so bad that I was facing the prospect of having my bowel cut out. I had been having bouts of bloody diarrhoea and intense abdominal pain for 10 years, and had been hospitalised and on high doses of steroid drugs a couple of times. My gastroenterologist had put me on a powerful immune suppressing drug which made me extremely ill. He told me that ulcerative colitis had nothing to do with my diet, and there was no way to treat it except with drugs and surgery.
Now he was telling me I’d probably have to have my bowel surgically removed, and live with a colostomy bag for the rest of my life. I’m only 38 years old and there was no way I wanted to do this!
Robyn gave me hope that I could recover. She explained what was causing my immune system to attack my bowel, and prescribed a dietary plan and some nutritional supplements to stop my immune system from attacking my bowel, calm the inflammation in my bowel, and help it heal up. The first stage of the diet was really strict, but Robyn told me it was just for 3 days, and I was prepared to do whatever it took to hang onto my bowel! Within 2 days I was hardly having any pain, and my energy level had increased. After 1 week I was only going to the toilet twice a day (down from 5 times a day when I first spoke to Robyn) and had no pain, only a little bit of cramping before bowel movements.
When I spoke to my specialist after beginning the diet changes, and told him I was doing well and didn’t think I needed the immunosuppressant drugs, he told me ‘this won’t work; call me when you go downhill’. He told me that he couldn’t deal with me, so I found another specialist who’s really happy to support me and pleased that I’m doing well.
I saw my new gastroenterologist today. He told me my full blood count, platelets, ESR and all my other pathology results are completely back to normal, even though it’s been only 3 months since I was in hospital and on the verge of having my colon removed! I’m weaning off the anti-inflammatory medication, and he has officially pronounced me in remission from ulcerative colitis."
[Wait, there's more!]
The first time I spoke to Robyn on the phone, she had taught me how to do EFT to help me cope with the anxiety I was feeling about my condition and the prospect of losing my bowel. As I started to improve, we began working on all the stress factors that had contributed to my ulcerative colitis.
I’d always pushed myself to go on looking after my family and our home, even when I was sick. I envied my husband who can just sit down and relax – I just couldn’t do that when there was work to be done, and of course with 2 young children, there’s ALWAYS work to be done. I thought that was just the kind of person I was, and there was nothing I could do about it. Robyn helped me see that I had a choice. We did lots of EFT on my feelings and beliefs, and now I’m happy to say that I can play with my children without having to get all the housework done first!
Another issue that was really bothering me was my sleep. I would wake at 5.30 am every morning, needing to go to the toilet. Once I was awake I just couldn’t get back to sleep, so I’d do lots of housework and then be exhausted by 10 am. We worked on this issue with EFT, and now I sleep contentedly until 7.30 am and my kids wake me up!
Not only do I still have my bowel because I followed Robyn’s nutritional advice, and no abdominal pain; I’m also dealing with the stress factors that triggered my ulcerative colitis so that I’m happier in my everyday life.
